The highly anticipated restaurant is still under construction (the Corner Suite Bistro De Luxe won’t launch until July), but that doesn’t mean it won’t be interesting until after its doors are opened…
Vancouver magazine will be doing a behind-the-scenes feature on the restaurant’s financing, construction, and concept for their July-August issue. I’m afraid that it has been written – and probably very terribly – by yours truly.
My first draft was submitted this morning, and boy are my arms tired. I’d never eaten Anthony Sedlak’s food before (good) and I’m against mathematics in general (bad), so it was a fascinating and rewarding few weeks of work, both with the sometimes confounding research (the calculator is the devil’s work) and the tappity tap tap in the office.
I’m glad it’s done, but I also want to do it again. I like the open guts of a project, the feel of a room as it fears the sledgehammer…
