Horne Block, The | Historical Building | The slim flatiron building on West Cordova that houses, among other businesses, the treasured oddities shop Salmagundi West and Timbertrain Coffee Roasters. Built in 1889, it’s decorated with cast-iron accents and originally featured a cornice and pediment across the rooftop and an intricate cupola on the front corner. The building is named for its initial owner: land developer, businessman, and Vancouver City Council member James Weltone Horne. See also: Hotel Europe.

Usage | “Have you ever noticed that cute little balcony on the corner of the Horne Block?”
