Steel Your Nerves for the Return of the “Dead Fellows Haunted Brewhouse” This October

The spooky season is closing in and Strange Fellows Brewing is once again embracing its morbid past by transforming into ‘Dead Fellows Brewhouse’.

For those who have never before experienced Strange Fellows’ Halloween-themed event, this is not your average haunted house! In true SFB spirit, the ‘Dead Fellows Brewhouse’ experience comes complete with its own frightening, beer-themed and historically-inspired backstory revolving around a crew of nine reanimated dead brewers with a particular thirst. From Strange Fellows:

“Prior to 1917, False Creek extended east to where Clark Drive and Strange Fellows Brewing stand today. In October 1899 the East Bridge crossing the marshy east end of False Creek collapsed, sending everyone who was on it to their deaths. Nine people died, including a team of brewers enroute to deliver beer to Gassy Jack’s saloon in Gastown…

Seeking revenge for their untimely deaths, the drowned brewers have returned from the dead on a grisly mission – to brew for their friends from the other side who’ve developed a taste for full-bodied beer. They’ve hijacked Strange Fellows Brewing and are on the hunt for fresh ingredients for their blasphemous beer: YOU!”

The Strathcona brewery’s horrific metamorphosis will take place over the two weekends leading up to Halloween proper – Friday, October 18th to Sunday the 20th, and the following Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th, from 5-10pm each night. As per SFB recommendations, visits to the ‘Dead Fellows Brewhouse’ are best experienced as a group of four; so rustle up three more fearless (or fear-loving) and steady-handed (to minimize any jump-scare-induced beer spillage) friends or family members, and then secure your time slot here STAT.

In the meantime, check out the video below for a better idea of the spine-tingling horrors in store for your upcoming visit…
