Kick Off February with a Special One-Day-Only Specialty Coffee Pop-Up

Mark your calendars, coffee-lovers, and get ready for a super tasty and caffeinated kick off to February, when Coffee Wallas Asian Specialty Coffees will be doing a one-off pop-up at Yuán Coffee (550 Clark Drive).

Coffee Wallas is a concept inspired by the Indian term “Chaiwalla”, or tea vendors (also known proverbially as “People of Tea”). Reimagined for coffee, it consists of a small group of self-appointed curators, self-described as “People of Coffee”. Among them is local ceramicist and coffee aficionado, Dustin Ryan Yu, who serves as Director of Coffee and sources beans from across Asia. (Psst! You can find out more about Yu by reading our 2022 interview with him here.)  For their first ever Vancouver event, Yu will be posting up behind the pour over bar, introducing curious Vancouver coffee drinkers to a line-up of eight coffee varieties from five different Asian origins. Each of the offerings will be available as 8oz drinks priced from $6-10 each, depending on the brew. Even better: if one (or more) of the coffees on-hand especially peps you up, 250g bags of the stuff will also be available to purchase (as well as merch).

Take a sneak peek of the pop-up menu below:

The Coffee Wallas Pour Over Bar will be open for business on the first Monday of next month (February 3rd) only, from 9am until 6pm – so you can swing by for your first cup of the day, lunch break brew, afternoon coffee break, or after-work pick-me-up…or all four! Find out more about the project here.
