It’s a new school year, and what better way to kick it off than by treating yourself to a beautiful, charitable feast at the annual Schoolyard Harvest Dinner! Net proceeds from the event go directly to its organizers, Fresh Roots, a charitable organization dedicated to providing good food to everyone. The produce cultivated through the initiative’s various hands-on educational and school programs for youth is all sold directly back into the community to restaurants, cafeterias, food access programs and neighbours. You’ll get to taste the fruits of labour yourself in a multi-course meal masterminded by Chef Juno Kim, with additional ingredients from the program’s farmer friends and Skipper Otto’s Community Supported Fisheries, plus drinks by 33 Acres Brewing. The al fresco dinner setting is none other than one of Fresh Roots’ schoolyard gardens, so you’ll be dining surrounded by the very food you’re enjoying. It doesn’t get more ‘farm-to-table’ than that!
Sat., Sept. 9th | 4:30 – 8:30pm | David Thompson Secondary School, 1755 East 55th Avenue | $125 | TICKETS
