A Curious Chef Follows The Action In A Kitchen That Isn’t His

This is one of our favourite photographs. It shows a visiting chef, Cameron Smith of Penticton’s Joy Road, peeking into the kitchen mid-meal at The Fat Dragon. The restaurant was opened on the DTES in the late winter of 2012 by the folks behind the two Campagnolos (you’ll find the old Fat Dragon neon sign hanging from the ceiling upstairs at the Main Street location). Though loved by many, it lasted only nine months, closing two years ago this month.
