Vinyl Hideaway Inside West End’s Greenhorn Espresso Bar

IMG_8574

A weekend walk through the West End landed us at the Greenhorn Espresso Bar, one of our favourite rainy day haunts.

The place was packed, which is always really cool to see. Though not even a year old, it has already established itself as something of a community institution with its sharp, focused menu, great coffee, and mellow vibe.

And now it has a record shop, too! Tentatively called “Corner Records”, the new installation – built by designer Kevin Paetkau – has the capacity for several hundred albums and is curated by audiophile Mark Richardson together with owners Walter Le Daca and Ganga Jolicoeur.

As you can see from the shots below, it’s located in the far corner of the upper part of the cafe. The selection is eclectic but awesome. Think Al Green, The Flaming Lips, John Coltrane, Digable Planets, and John Coltrane.
