New West’s Pier Park Sets Scene for Inaugural Safe & Sound Music Fest

When you think of New Westminster, you probably don’t imagine a youthful city with a bustling cultural scene. As of September 3rd, however, you may need to rethink New West as it’s getting a brand new music festival, and it’s no small beans. The inaugural Safe & Sound Music Fest includes an impressive lineup of Canadian hip hop and contemporary r&b talent with headliners Majid Jordan, DVSN, Jessie Reyes and K-OS, plus several local talents. The all-ages event takes place at Pier Park starting at noon and goes well into the evening, so you can get groovy while enjoying the whole spectrum of the scenic Fraser River waterfront.
