Get Ready for the First Ever ‘Uncorked: A Celebration of the Science of Wine’

For three hours on the evening of Thursday, November 14th (7 – 10pm) Science World is going to be transformed into a veritable wine universe during the first ever “Uncorked: A Celebration of the Science of Wine”.

Event-goers will be treated to an in-depth scientific exploration of winemaking – on topics from soil to synthesis, aging and blending – from a bunch of visiting Okanagan Valley wineries. What you don’t learn while mingling with the many attending wine experts, or listening in on the various seminars and demos, you can also absorb by joining in the night’s hands-on activities.

Of course, the most fun learning will arguably be done via osmosis. Included in the cost of general admission ($89) are tastings from five BC wineries: Mission Hill Family Estate, CedarCreek Estate Winery, CheckMate Artisanal Winery, Martin’s Lane Winery and Road 13 Vineyards. There’s also a sparkling wine lounge and a blind tasting experience, along with snacks for pairing, created by chefs from two participating winery’s restaurants (Mission Hill’s Terrace Restaurant and Home Block at CedarCreek).

Proceeds from “Uncorked” and its silent auction will be funnelled into Science World’s travelling educational performance program, On the Road. Cheers to that. Tickets here.
