City of Vancouver Needs Food Service Industry Workers’ Opinions on Waste Reduction

The year 2020 fast approaches, so it’s pretty much crunch time for City Hall to meet its stated goal of becoming the most environmentally-friendly city on Earth. The “Single Use Item Strategy” is one part of their efforts to get greener over the course of the next couple of years; by reducing the use of paper cups, plastic bags and other harmful take out food containers. Now more than ever they need people – specifically those working in the food service industry – to pipe up and offer their unique insights about this issue. There are two roundtable discussions for industry workers scheduled for the mornings of October 4th and 11th, and another for the general public on November 2nd. These discussions are free to attend; all you need to do is register in advance. Learn more about the initiative HERE.
