67-Seat Luppolo Brewing Company Opens In Strathcona With Seven Beers On Tap

img_5795

The highly anticipated Luppolo Brewing Co. softly opened for friends and family a few nights ago. Michelle and I slipped in early for a recce, and found the place filling up fast with local brewers in for first looks and tastes and to wish the newcomers well. It’s always cool to see that sort of thing (it’s really a community of competitors). Their kitchen operation had yet to come fully online, so we couldn’t try the Italian piadina sandwiches we’d been looking forward to but the beers we tried were promising, and there were seven out of eight taps running (Fresh Hop Belgian IPA, Dunkleweizen, IPA, Saison, New World Sour, Mild, West Coast Farmhouse). The 67 seat brewery is located at 1123 Venables Street in Strathcona (conveniently just down the street from Scout’s office). Check it out this week before everyone else does! Hours are 3pm to 11pm, seven days a week.
