We Want To Have Fun Finding Our Selves With the Locally Made ‘Inquest’ Card Deck

We’re a pretty satisfied bunch, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t covetous. Sometimes we see things out there that we just must have. Cool Things We Want is an archive of those earthly desires.

We want to take a good look inside ourselves with the help of the Inquest card deck. The tarot-inspired deck is the culmination of a two-year-long collaboration between local artist Nadine Nevitt and leadership coach, life consultant and yoga guru Matt Corker. The 54 beautifully illustrated and occasionally humorous cards have titles like “Self Preservation”, “Compassionate Connection” and “Core Desires” (see below to get in on the joke). Each one is designed to inspire self-directed introspection. Thankfully, the set includes a booklet to help you make sense of it all. The whole thing costs $60.

Here are some basic instructions, and a bit of life philosophy, from the Inquest Instagram account:

“Pick one. Pick five. Reshuffle them. Intuit what it is asking from you. Read the prompt from the book. Reshuffle again.
Life’s a mess. So is the deck.”

Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? You don’t need to be up to speed on New Age philosophy or in possession of a massive crystal collection to agree that we could all use a bit more Inquest-ness to make light of our lives. Unfortunately, when we last checked they were nearly sold out of their first print run. Make sure you don’t miss out by DM-ing Matt and/or Nadine ASAP.
