‘Swine Out Vancouver’ Bringing All Things Pork & Beer to Heritage Hall on Nov. 19

On Monday, November 19th, nine local chefs and six breweries will be gathering at Heritage Hall for “Swine Out Vancouver”. The talented chefs involved will be showcasing their culinary skills utilizing all things pork, from the head to the hock. The menu finishes with a special dessert from the women of The Pie Shoppe. Attendees will get to enjoy the full spread along with beers from R&B, Main Street, Brassneck, Red Truck, Faculty and Big Rock.

The night, which was organized in part by the Chefs’ Table Society of BC, is also partly an homage to the late Anthony Bourdain. It’s also an acknowledgement of the overwhelming number of food and beverage industry workers who suffer from severe depression, as a large portion of proceeds from the porcine event are being donated to The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC.

The night will hardly be a somber affair, though, as Swine Out was deliberately scheduled for a day of the week when kitchens are usually closed, allowing for chefs to get out to support and mingle with their community and fellow food-lovers.

Tickets are only $60 each, which gets you offerings from all nine food stations and all six beers. All of the details, including the full menu and the impressive line-up of chefs, are available here.
