While the Vancouver arts community is still mourning the March closure of Mount Pleasant’s Hot Art Wet City gallery, there’s consolation to be found with the new tenants at 2206 Main Street, Massy Books. Owner Patricia Massy has packed the small space full of knowledge in the form of used and hard-to-find books, not to mention an intelligent staff. Her architect husband built the shelves for her collections, which has grown to include many volumes from the recently closed Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks. Bonus: the rare book collection is accessed via a secret bookshelf door! As of now there are no planned events but keep your eyes peeled to their calendar for future happenings. In the meantime, pop by the newly opened space to welcome them to Main Street! We snuck in long before the shop officially opened (June 7th) as Patricia was setting things up. Take a look…
Thanks for covering Massy Books. These stores need lots of support from buyers and media. It’s a gem.!
