Pie Shoppe to Host Winter Pie Making Workshops

The Pie Shoppe might be closed, but there are still two opportunities to learn from co-owner and pie-making pro Stephanie French before she and her sister take off on their upcoming sabbatical.

Pie-curious Vancouverites can pick from two workshop options: a weekday evening class with wine tasting (Thursday, January 30th from 6:30 to 9:30pm, $110) or a leisurely brunching and baking session (Sunday, February 2nd from 10am to 2pm, $125). Both workshops include drinks and either a nosh or a chef-made brunch, and all of the necessary baking tools and aprons will be provided for the duration of the class.

Participants will learn all of the fundamentals (plus some insider tips and tricks) for creating the most delicious personalized pies using fresh BC grown produce and locally milled grains, entirely from scratch – from the crust to the fruity fillings!

Bonus: not only will you walk away with your very own warm-from-the-oven pie and a few recipes in your back pocket, but you’ll also have banked some invaluable skills that are going to come in super handy the next time you feel inspired at the Farmers Market or just have a hankering for a homemade slice.
