Phnom Penh

Welcome to the Vancouver Lexicon. Its purpose is to pin down the patois of the City of Vancouver by recording its toponyms, nicknames, slang terms, personalities, places, and other Van-centric things. Full A-Z here.

Phnom Penh | restaurant | A popular restaurant in Vancouver’s Chinatown (not the capital city of Cambodia). Few eateries more deliciously typify Vancouver’s culinary melting pot than Phnom Penh, the Cambodian-Vietnamese-Chinese family institution (since 1985) located at 244 East Georgia Street. Regular customers don’t sweat the perennial line-up as they know the wait is worth it, with lemon-garlic chicken wings, green onion oyster pancakes, Chinese sausage fried rice, and butter beef being the most celebrated rewards.

Usage: “The secret to eating well at Phnom Penh is to bring five adventurous friends who only order dishes you haven’t tried before…”
