PDX Aura-Snapping Photo Pop-Up At Gastown’s ‘Nouvelle Nouvelle’ – Oct. 20-23

screen-shot-2016-10-16-at-2-44-22-pm

There’s a Nouvelle Nouvelle pop-up happening this week. The cool as heck Gastown boutique has once again teamed up with Radiant Human, a travelling aura photography outfit from Portland, to offer Vancouverites the chance to have their aura captured on film. For three days the shop will be home to a geodesic dome and those interested in having their picture taken can pop in to check out the process, talk to the photographers, and sit for a portrait. The same pop-up went down last July and bookings sold out lickity-split, so if you’re thinking you want to get in on the action this time, scoot over here and put your name down.

Not sure what aura is all about? Radiant Human explains it like this: “We all have energy running through our bodies. This energy radiates beyond our skin creating an atmosphere or ‘aura’, otherwise called an electromagnetic field. The aura camera uses hand sensors to analyze this energy’s vibrational frequency. Through this camera, we are able to match your vibrational frequency to a corresponding colour’s vibrational frequency, making your energy visible and easy to see in the form of an instant Polaroid picture.” Portraits are $45 a pop. Check out more past portraits here.
