Highly Curated Vintage Shop “Hey Jude” Gets Set To Open In Gastown Oct. 23rd

by Michelle Sproule | We’ve written about Lauren Clark and Lyndsey Chow many times before; they’re the brains behind Hey Jude, one of our favourite local clothing collections. Until now, their stuff has only been available online, at pop-ups, or at discerning third party locations around town. That all changes tomorrow (Friday) when Lauren and Lyndsey take the leap and open their first permanent shop in Gastown at 315 Abbott Street.

I took a look inside the other day as they were getting ready. Racks and shelves were being stocked with clothes and accessories in keeping with what Hey Jude has built its reputation on, which is to say owning the cool intersection of classic and contemporary, structured and bohemian. Expect pre-loved cotton, silk and wool, rich tones, stylish patterns and monochromatic neutrals that make fresh statements while blending into existing wardrobes.

For the last 5 years the duo have been busy building their knowledge, sharpening their skills, frequenting fashion shows and going on buying trips. They’ve hunted, cleaned, and repaired countless items of clothing. They’ve painted spaces, sourced hangers, and processed transactions. They’ve probably racked more hours with a garment steamer than many of us have logged at the gym in our lifetimes. They are ready for this because they work hard.

That – combined with the fact that they have fantastic style (not to mention two of the most genuine smiles around) – makes it easy to get excited about Hey Jude becoming a full-time fixture in one of the most stylish neighbourhoods in the city. We’re super stoked for them, and can’t wait to pay them a proper visit.
