1000 Cool Things About Vancouver is a pretty self-explanatory Scout column that gives equal weight to the common attributes and obscure intangibles that make our city well worth living in. Getting to a thousand is a pretty ambitious goal, but we believe in our city and we’re already well under way.

Started in May, 2010 as Canada’s first-ever craft beer week with about 100 attendees and 15 breweries participating, Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW) has since grown into an annual series of cool, beer-anchored events, dinners, and various other shindigs that celebrate all things craft beer. Today, it now rolls with over 15,000 attendees and over 100 breweries and cideries participating, making it Western Canada’s premier event for craft beer, food, music and art.
