Fraserhood’s Spooky Dark Manor Inn to Close

The Dark Manor Inn will close at the end of this week, ending an 8-month run at 4298 Fraser Street. Launched in time for last Halloween, the haunted house-themed 60 seater will spook its last guests on Sunday, July 7th.

Owner Rod Moore reached out with the news over the long weekend:

“After a decent opening the Dark Manor Inn has struggled greatly to find its place in Vancouver. I’ve made the sad decision to close, rebrand and try something that’s a lot more accessible for the neighbourhood we’re in. Our last day is Sunday July 7th, we are pushing to make this a big last week and give those that did enjoy it or haven’t found the time to try it a last shot at doing so before this very unique and fun place moves into the history books.”

So if you’ve been meaning to get to this especially unique spot this past year but haven’t been able to, you’d better get a move one before it’s gone forever, if for no other reason than oddball establishments like this don’t come along every day! As for what Rod has planned for the address, I’m told it’ll be a four to six week turnaround for whatever concept is coming next. “As far as the space goes,” Rod tells me, “I just know I’m going to do something a lot more accessible that hopefully hits the fun button in a much better way.”
