Food & Beverage Industry Activist Ashtin Berry to Host Two Events in Vancouver

Regardless of your industry and work environment, we think everyone can benefit by attending this seminar and workshop, on October 28th and 29th.

Food & Beverage Industry Activist Ashtin Berry to Host Two Events in Vancouver

Acclaimed food and beverage activist Ashtin Berry is in town from New Orleans to host events on Sunday, October 28th and Monday, October 29th. The first is a 90 minute free lecture called “The Necessity of Hospitality Professionals to be Change Agents” and will be going down at Juniper restaurant in Chinatown. The next day Berry will be holding a three-hour long workshop at the Cascade Room, focusing on topics like bystander awareness, gender and racial violence. It’s called “How to Be Active Bystanders in Work Spaces”.

The overarching theme of both events is developing communication skills for hospitality workers and patrons to make these spaces as safe and inclusive as possible. That being said, the info and ideas to be explored are relevant to basically any industry and work environment. Since we can all agree that Vancouver (any city, for that matter) would be an overall better place to live if these practices were commonplace, we feel this opportunity is something everyone should get in on.

RSVP to Sunday’s talk here and equip yourself with tickets for the Monday class there.

Sun, Oct. 28 | 1:45 - 3:15pm | Juniper | FREE (Closed) 185 Keefer St. MAP
