“Fifty Percent Chance” – Book Of Rainy Vancouver Moments

35c2585a03af2cd74050bfd407a8967d

We want a copy of local photographer Simon Clarke‘s new book, Fifty Percent Chance, which was inspired by Vancouver’s inclement weather.

I’m a film fan, so I think that some of that spills over into my photography; I like capturing images that are cinematic, like vignettes from a story. Often the people in my photos are silhouettes or shadows; characters with their own hidden stories. If I do capture people’s faces, it’s when they have their guard down, daydreaming on a bus or in a cafe on a rainy night. Somewhere where they can be in their own little world, much like myself […] I wanted to capture moments that Vancouverites would recognize as their own; some rainy, some snowy, some sunlit, some misty… (but mostly rainy). It’s my hope that they identify with some of these moments, or at least see our city in a way that they hadn’t seen it before.

The book is 56 pages in 7″x7″ hardcover (with dust jacket). It’s sold with a set of 10 high quality fine art postcards with selected images from the book. Take a look at some of the shots below and pick up a copy here.
