This weekend will see Eastside Flea’s highly anticipated first market in their new home in the old Ellis Building at 1024 Main Street (between Campagnolo and the Ivanhoe). The multi-level, 10,000 sqft enormity has almost finished its first major phase of renovation, and there are 14 resident vendors installed and ready for commerce. Here’s an excerpt from a note we recently received from Eastside Flea director/co-founder Jill Whitford:
We’ll be hosting an evening market / sneak peek of the building on the Friday night [April 15th], followed by two full market days on April 16th & 17th. Over the course of the weekend we’ll have over 60 local vendors exhibiting, 5 artist studio/showrooms to explore, food trucks, a live deejay, and the outdoor courtyard open with lots of public seating.
Friday’s night’s festivities are being billed as a Shop n’ Bop (you can get more details here on their Facebook page). With cocktails, Tacofino chow, donuts from Glazed & Confused and more, it sounds like it’s going to be a hell of a good time.
You might remember that we checked the place out back in January when it was something of a stark shambles. We slipped inside again yesterday for another look-see, leaving amazed at the transformation and stoked on the variety that’s in store.
