You Can Now Score DownLow Chicken at Kits Beach

DL Kits | Photo by James Radymski

Big news for fried chicken fans, pool people and beach bums alike: DownLow Chicken has landed in Kits. Finally! Because East Van shouldn’t get to have all the unfussy, greasy fun this summer. You can now get DL right by the pool, overlooking the ocean, and with a cold drink in hand.

The move comes courtesy of Batch, the local crew known for turning public spaces into solid hangout zones with good food, local drinks, and just enough chill. They’ve teamed up with DL and the Vancouver Park Board to expand the licensed patio at Kits Pool – now 60 additional seats for a total of approximately 200 in total, with ocean views, music, and a menu that means business.

On offer: all the DL classics – OG Sandos, DL Tenders, the new Burrito on the DL, Kits All-Beef Burger, SWagyu Dogs (for when you’re feeling fancy) — plus plenty of cold drinks to wash it all down.

Whether you’re hitting the pool, just biking through the area, or looking for an excuse to post up with something crispy and spicy near the beach, you’re covered. Now all we need is for the pool to reopen… And word has it that is slated for this weekend. Tickets for all of Vancouver’s outdoor pools open today (Wednesday, June 18th) at noon! Find out more.
