We’re a pretty satisfied bunch, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t covetous. Sometimes we see things out there that we just must have. Cool Things We Want is an archive of those earthly desires.

Dirt Spindle Pottery has been on my radar for a little while now, but these conjoined half-face dishes really caught my attention for their practicality, imaginativeness and just the right amount of creepiness. It’s remarkable just how much expression can be contained in just the chin and lips. Is that nonchalance and impartiality I detect in the “kissed” dish?

From the ceramicist, East Van’s Emma Canning:

“These conjoined dishes are part of a pottery series I do incorporating casted body parts. Each are completely handmade by me from start to finish and I enjoy making each one a little different from the other. They are food safe and can be used for all sorts of things anyone can imagine!”

The pair of attached dishes retail for $40-$45 (depending on size) and are available at the awesome oddities shop “This Monkey’s Gone to Heaven” located at 2244 East Hastings Street.
