We Want a Macrame Workshop with Portland Crafty Lady “Little Feral”

We’re a pretty satisfied bunch, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t covetous. Sometimes we see things out there that we just must have. Cool Things We Want is our ongoing archive of those earthly desires. Share the yearning…

Portland-based Kaysie “Little Feral” Condron shares her skills and craft-as-meditation philosophy by travelling across North America and teaching macrame, wall-hanging and fibre jewellery workshops. We scoped out pics from her June workshop in Vancouver via the Friends With Benefits shop Instagram and it looked like a blast!

Condron will be touching down at the Got Craft? Holiday fair (December 9th – 10th at the Maritime Labour Centre) to sell her own fibre creations which she dubs with names like “disorientation in the hemisphere“, “plenty-a buns” and “nothing but trouble.” (Her “the boss lady necklace” – a feat of knots made of all natural, eco-friendly cotton rope and bamboo silk – is at the top of our wishlist this season.)

Fortunately for us, she’ll be making the most of her time by holding her Macrame Plant Hanger 101 Workshop (Monday, December 11th at the Good Omen in New West). This time we’ll be sure not to miss it! The real challenge will be deciding whether to give our handmade plant hanger as a holiday gift or keep it for ourselves…

The best! ? @little.feral
