Om The Bridge | Politics | A ludicrous stunt designed to elicit as much blind fury from the opposition as it takes for them to ignore something that has the potential to be much more explosive, like a genuine scandal.
The term can trace its origin to the mass yoga class of the same name that Premier Christy Clark scheduled (and later cancelled) for June 21st, 2015 on the Burrard Bridge. “Om The Bridge” provoked enough outrage to temporarily divert public attention away from the scandal surrounding her office and the public firings of eight health workers, one of whom later killed himself.
