Flavours of Hope is helping immigrant and refugee women build new lives in Canada by creating a space where cooking, community, storytelling, and entrepreneurship come together. This local organization offers women the chance to lay down roots while, at the same time, sharing their rich culinary traditions with Vancouverites — a meaningful way to explore diverse cultures through food.
At its core, Flavours of Hope is about more than just food; it’s about connection, resilience, and equity. And their Dream Cuisines program is where it all happens. Each year, a different group of women gains access to mentorship, kitchen space, and peer-based knowledge sharing, as they launch their food businesses. Now in its third year, this valuable program continues to empower talented chefs and resilient entrepreneurs to bring their culinary dreams to life.
Every dish these cooks create is a reflection of their story, blending tradition and creativity in a way that’s both delicious and deeply personal. If that sounds like your kind of thing, then take note that the Dream Cuisines pop-up shop is now open in the Granville Island Public Market, through Tuesday, December 31st, with vendors rotating every day or two. You can find them set up across from JJ Bean. Participating businesses include:
