As a kid who learned his table manners from an overly strict, infinitely repressed, impossibly tight-assed English boarding school survivor (my Dad), I’ve always found loudly slurping my ramen noodles in public to be hugely liberating. So this slurp noise-erasing Otohiko fork is probably not for me.

I thought it was a joke at first but the contraption appears to be very real. The special fork is currently being crowdfunded for ¥14,800 each (roughly $130). If they get 5,000 backers by December 15 the Otohiko will ship in the new year.
