A no messing around guide to the coolest things to eat, drink and do in Vancouver and beyond. Community. Not clickbait.

Keeping It Sunny: Antisocial Skateboarders Show Off One of Vancouver’s Better Sides

If you’re new to Vancouver and haven’t yet caught on: Antisocial Skateboard Shop is a cornerstone of the city’s skateboarding scene. By blending retail, art and community into a single gathering spot for skaters and creatives, Antisocial has become their unofficial HQ.

The front window is stacked with indie art books you won’t find anywhere else, while the back of the shop comes alive with art shows, film screenings, craft sales, and low-key music nights. In the middle, it’s all about the essentials: walls lined with skateboard decks, shoes, and gear; plus racks full of the best hoodies, coolest jackets, all manner of hats, and everything else you’d need to hit the streets looking cool as f*ck. With its unpolished and deeply personal vibe, virtually every inch of the place captures the essence of skateboarding culture. Antisocial is a space that always feels “real”. Whether it’s your first board or your one-hundredth, this is where people come to connect, swap stories, and keep the city’s skateboarding ecosystem thriving.

On that note: Just because the city’s gearing up for winter DOES NOT mean that Antisocial is slowing down. They’re keeping the warm weather and dry pavement energy alive with their latest skate video (shout out to Shari White and Angelo Fajardo, who handled the filming and editing). Shot during the sunny days of summer, the video features nearly two dozen of Antisocial’s skateboarding crew — including Rick McCrank, Breana Geering, Dustin Henry, Una Farrar, Amadou Diallo, Hasumi Iida, Ryan Bjorgan, Connor Belvis, and many more — bringing their skills to the forefront with some seriously beautiful moves – dope soundtrack included.
