Skies are expected to clear up by the weekend, which means the patio’s calling! And this Sunday, July 13th, Dachi is responding by cracking open a fresh collab with Scout Vineyard.
This year’s release? A crisp, skin-contact blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris that’s basically built for a warm and sunny afternoon. Dachi co-owner Miki Ellis is calling it “fresh, zippy yet structured, with green apple, tangerine, and savoury undertones. It has just the right amount of texture to go alongside a summer’s meal…It’s a perfect patio drinker.” The Dachi X Scout collab – partially direct-pressed, partially skin-fermented, and aged in neutral oak barrels and puncheons — is the latest result of the long-running relationship between Dachi and Scout, built on shared ideas and a love for expressive, honest wines.
Just for the occasion, Scout Winemakers Murray Fonteyne and Aaron Godard are making the trip in from the Similkameen Valley to pour the first glasses and hang out on the Dachi patio. Guests can also expect a few rare bottles from the cellar to make an appearance, alongside the new release. The team will be pouring from noon until late, with Dachi’s all-day menu available to accompany it. Reservations (not required) can be made in advance here, and walk-ins are always welcome, natch.
After a few days of rain, this feels like the just kind of patio session the city’s been waiting for. Get a better idea of what’s in store by scoping out the pictures from last year’s release party below. And then see you on Sunday!
