Pop-Up Yoga Studio Now Hosting Outdoor Classes In An Alley Behind Main St.

IMG_9856

Vancouver is crisscrossed by hundreds upon hundreds of alleys that are mostly disregarded or passed by without much of a second thought. In the spirit of Livable Laneways (a group committed to utilizing all the space our city has to offer) our favourite pop-up yoga studio has started taking its classes to the streets alleys. Social Yoga is currently holding evening classes in the alley behind the Little Mountain Shop on Main and 28th. They’re taking place Monday through Thursday nights through to the end of August. Cities like Melbourne and Seattle are in the lead on reclaiming and repurposing their alleys, but there’s no reason we can’t make better use of our own. Alley yoga is neither the start nor the end of this movement, but it sure as salmon is Vancouver with a big capital V. So grab a yoga mat, hope/pray the rain quits, and get into it.

Monday-Thursday | 7pm to 9pm | Alley behind 4386 Main Street | Sign up here.
