New Shayd Johnson Photo Show Of Outdoor Adventures Opening In Chinatown

Outdoor-Adventures-(wbleed)(v2)

Shay Johnson takes a fine picture. A Vancouver Island fella who grew up exploring the outdoors, Shayd has the ability to capture its most evocative, deeply felt moments, the views and connections that we all intrinsically identify as somehow important. These are the calmest of waters, the first rays of a dawn, the barren mountain tops, and the wind-whipped beach fires that make your hair smell like adventure for days. Shayd has a genuine affinity for nature; it’s just plain to see.

We are particularly interested to see what Shayd has been doing with the medium format Hasselblad camera that he’s been carting around of late, as over half the images in the show were shot on it. Get an eyeful of his work at the ‘Untitled’ Art Space in Chinatown (436 Columbia St.) tonight. The reception kicks off at 7pm and it’ll be a good one. See you there.
