CANCELLED: Get ‘Wine-ish’ with Kurtis Kolt and Kelcie Jones on Tuesday, Sept. 9th

On Tuesday, September 9th, longtime friends and colleagues Kelcie Jones (co-proprietor of This Is Wine School) and Kurtis Kolt are combining their forces to bring us Wine-ish – a double-whammy event of classic wine and non-alc offerings. This should be good!

Together, the duo will be applying shared affinities and wine knowledge to a special tasting event featuring four of their favourite bottles hailing from various world-renown wine regions, alongside as many standout non-alc beverages. Not to pit them against each other, though! Instead, this is designed to be an even playing field sort of event – which is what makes it so special. (That, and the fact that, despite their personal and professional histories, Wine-ish marks Jones and Kolt’s first time collaborating together on an event.) From the organizers: “The non-alc category has grown by leaps and bounds in quality, and we’re excited to share our favourite splashes while enjoying a few classic wines we absolutely cherish.”

Overall, expect a thoughtful evening of sipping while picking up notes on comparisons and contrasts, and food pairing suggestions. And if you’re the sort to play ‘host’ over the holidays, it’s also a fantastic opportunity to add some valuable wine and non-alc wisdom to your entertainment tool belt ahead of the festive season.

Wine-ish goes down at This Is Wine School in Chinatown (265 East Pender Street) next week, Tuesday, September 9th from 6-8pm. Tickets are $80 each, available here.

EDITORS NOTE (Thursday, September 4th, 2025): Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled.
