Wrath Of Strath

Wrath of Strath | Train | Strathcona residents and East Van commuters could be forgiven for thinking the train tracks crossing Prior and Union had been abandoned. Dubbed the Burrard Inlet Spur Line, it was reactivated by CN on January 2nd after a decade of relative dormancy. Traffic has since increased from one train a month to half a dozen every day. When the aptly nicknamed “Wrath of Strath” trundles through the neighbourhood, it blocks traffic on Venables/Prior St., Cordova St. and the Union St. bike route, stranding people for up to 20 minutes at a time at all hours of the day and night.

Usage | “Sorry, I’m going to be late. I’m stuck behind the Wrath of Strath…”
