The Goods From The Little District

North Vancouver, BC | The Little District Roadhouse has a message for Metro Vancouver imbibers: keep calm and drink bourbon. Guests at the popular North Vancouver diner will be able to give the notoriously bold spirit a chance at redemption with Beasts of Bourbon, a celebration of 13 top-shelf bourbons from across the United States. Starting on Sunday, June 1, 2014, the event will feature a daily bourbon at $2 off, leading up to the weekend of June 14 & 15, 2014 when all 13 brands will be available at the feature price.

“Our mission is to change people’s fear of this sorely misunderstood spirit,” said Paul Mon-Kau, owner of The Little. “We’re out to prove that bourbon can be enjoyed by all without burnt tongues, watering eyes or next-day regret.”

Coinciding with National Bourbon Day on Saturday, June 14, and Father’s Day on Sunday, June 15, Beasts of Bourbon will wind up over the weekend with a two-day barbeque bash helmed by Mon-Kau and Dustyn Harvey, chef de cuisine for The District Restaurant Group.

“We’ll be house-smoking and serving up more than 40 pounds of classic North Carolina pulled pork, paired with premium bourbon and great company,” added Mon-Kau. “Both Dustyn and I have competed in barbeque competitions including the Bulls Eye BBQ Nationals, and we’re stoked to bring a little of that flavour and fun to the surrounding community.”

Uniting the best that the United States has to offer, featured bourbons will range from familiar names like Maker’s Mark and Jim Beam to lesser-known brands including Booker’s True Barrel Small Batch and Blanton’s Single Barrel. Meet the Beasts after the jump…

About The Little District

The-Little-District-7

Grab your leather jacket and crank the Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and B.B. King. Classic Americana meets premium comfort food at The Little District Roadhouse, kid sister to The District Brasserie. With its blues-heavy soundtrack, exposed brick and rustic filament lighting, The Little feels like home from the first drink to the last (of many).

Big hunger is no match for the seriously mouthwatering menu, with options including a Steak Burger, soon-to-be-famous Cod Fritters, Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Fried Oysters and Demon Wings (the hottest damn wing this side of the Lion’s Gate). Washed down with choice brews (low-sellers are replaced every six weeks), bourbon cocktails in mason jars and simple yet sippable wines, every meal at The Little comes with an extra side of comfort.

Down-home dining has a new address at The Little. Come and knock on our door – we’ve been waiting for you.
