China Creek

Scout co-founder Andrew Morrison skating China Creek in 1986

China Creek | Place | Although probably more synonymous with the skatepark that bears its name, China Creek, like Brewery Creek, drained into an area of False Creek which was later filled in. According to Miss 604, the name originated from a Chinese pig farm in that vicinity during the early 1880s, although the COV’s page says it was named for the Chinese gardens located along its banks.

Usage | “You punks have it lucky because when I was growing up the only skate park we had was China Creek.”
