Lighting Architecture Movement Project (LAMP) Opening Night, November 3rd

unnamed-3-1

Check out the opening reception for the Lighting Architecture Movement Project (LAMP) exhibit this Thursday, November 3rd at Railtown’s JAN KATH Studio. The gallery is showcasing the best and brightest installations submitted from around the world in three categories: student, emerging, and established designers. The theme of this year’s competition was “Cosmic” – just previewing the works has blown my mind, so I can’t wait to check them out in person…

There’s no doubt you’ll want to re-evaluate every light fixture you own after you see the ways these designers confront form, emerging technologies and design. In addition to the design competition, attendees can expect an Hfour art installation, performance art and a bustle of interesting folks to sip wine and beer with. If you can’t make it to the opening, make sure you stop by the exhibit (entrance by donation), which runs November 4-6.

Thursday, November 3 | 6-12:00 pm | 505 Railway St. | $25-30 | TICKETS

Hit East Van for the 2nd Annual Vancouver Brewers Fest, April 19-28th

Since a single person (and liver) can only handle so many beers and beer-drinking celebrations, some prioritizing is in order. Topping off our list of events is the imminent (and, in our opinion, non-negotiable) Vancouver Brewers Fest.
