Sometimes it’s not so easy to pass off the practise as something we need to do as part of the weird living we make, especially to our children when they’re suddenly served plates of “wild-style” currywurst and rocky road tarts. They want to dig in immediately, naturally, while we invariably fuss about angle, light, and, and general presentation. It’s a silly thing, and we know it. So does Ikea, as they’ve demonstrated in this poignant ad brilliantly juxtaposing our age of Instagram with the rabid fashions of 18th century France. No one likes a lecture, but this one kinda nails it.
