This Man’s Brooklyn Apartment Holds A World Class Art Collection

Eric Edwards started collecting baseball cards and comic books as a kid. He then moved on to things like signed celebrity photographs, antique clocks, audio equipment, and records, records, records (40,000+). But the subject of the fascinating short documentary The Collector by Mark Zemel is Edwards’ 1,600-piece collection of African art, which the former AT&T executive keeps in his Brooklyn apartment. The incredible collection – which includes everything from ceremonial masks and antique weapons to architectural elements and ancient Nubian artifacts – is 44 years in the making and spans the entire African continent – all 54 countries.
