New ‘Tight Club’ Video an Inspiring Fit for First Day of Summer

We like seeing our friends do awesome things so we’re posting this video from our friend Keighty Gallagher, founder of Tight Club Athletics. It makes us want to get out there and move!

Community-minded fitness studio Tight Club Athletics has released a new short inspirational film with an original song to celebrate summer in Vancouver and inspire movement in all kinds of ways.

The film was produced and directed by Marcus Eriksson with cinematography by James Liston. The original music is co-written by Eriksson and aboriginal recording artist Jody Okabe who provides the inspiring vocals. Jody recently shared the stage with Arcade Fire at the Juno Awards and also happens to be Tight Club’s studio manager. Marcus Eriksson is a photographer & director who’s portfolio includes work with Lebron James, Serena Williams, and Keanu Reeves for clients like Nike, Beats By Dre, and Squarespace.

The film features a day-in-the-life of Tight Club and showcases some of the best of Vancouver with runs through downtown Chinatown and on the beach, energizing Pacific ocean dips and snowy mountaintop vistas. All this with an eye to the high energy fitness focus of Tight Club with ice baths, TRX and battle ropes balancing on medicine balls.

“We do things differently at Tight Club,” says Tight Club founder Keighty Gallagher, “we’re all about functional movements for real life and creative expression. Which was the perfect inspiration to create a film that celebrates movement in all forms in the city we love to Jody’s beautiful voice.” Tight Club’s hope is that you will feel inspired to make moves this summer and enjoy the best of the city and community. A creative expression of living the tight life, and making moves; whether that’s quitting your job and starting that small business, to coming out to your friends and family, or getting more involved in social and political activism. Whatever moves inspire you, Tight Club wants to help you hit those marks and celebrate the strides.

Stay tuned for future plans currently in the works to host a night at the studio space with local community experts to provide resources on how you can make your own moves this summer.
