Kissa Tanto is Hosting Le Violon for One Night Only, Sept. 30th

When the Co-Owner and Executive Chef of Montreal’s hottest new room, Le Violon, comes out west to cook at Kissa Tanto — a perennial Vancouver favourite — you make time for it.

Next Tuesday, September 30th, Danny Smiles (Le Violon) and Joël Watanabe (Kissa Tanto) are putting their knives and brains together for a five-course family-style dinner. These are two kitchens with two very different approaches; Chef Smiles pulls from Quebec’s waters and markets, while Chef Watanabe threads Japanese and Italian into one line of thought. When they collide, the conversation becomes about more than good food; it’s also about heritage, ingredients, and how food travels from coast-to-coast.

Drinks aren’t an afterthought either: Sheringham Distillery is stepping in with cocktails. Overall, this is the kind of night that’s built on curiosity. The chefs will be trading ideas (and flexing a bit, of course), and giving the table something you’ll never see twice. Enough said.

Tickets are $250, covering snacks, a welcome drink, and five courses. Secure your reservation at one of the remaining time slots here now.
