Keefer Bar’s 15 Year (Yes, You Read That Correctly!) Anniversary Party is Around the Corner

The Keefer Bar is celebrating their 15th year anniversary this month! Although the occasion officially falls mid-week, on Wednesday, February 12th, such a major milestone is obviously deserving of much longer spread…which is why the team has not planned not one, but three whole days of celebrations, beginning on Monday, February 10th. We suggest taking whatever measures necessary to free up your schedule in order to attend.

To begin the celebrations, the Keefer has called up some old industry pals who originally did guest spots at the Chinatown bar back in their early days, to get nostalgic behind the bar with them once again. For the kick-off, special guest Ola Carlson, Co-founder of Lucys Flower Shop (cocktail bar), will be dropping in from Stockholm for a special one-night-only pop-up, February 10th from 6-10pm. Then, the following night, Carlson will be swapped out by Nico de Soto, the highly lauded cross-continental bartender with stints at Mace in New York and Danico in Paris (February 11th, from 6-10pm).

Both nights’ menus will feature cocktails culled from the 50 Best lists – so you know they’ll be proper showstoppers. Reserve your spot now, before the crowd beats you to it. You can take care of that here.

As cool as Monday and Tuesday are shaping up to be, Wednesday—the official anniversary—will be the real kicker. It all starts nice and early at 4pm with a two-hour Happy Hour hosted by Keefer alumni bartenders Navin Toor, Jared Fontaine, Chris Mosey, Keenan Hood, and Amber Bruce are reuniting for this – and they’re calling it a “High Five Happy Hour” (you have to be there to find out why, but trust us… this is worth sneaking out of work early for!).  Happy Hour rolls straight into the famous and always fun Barate Kid cocktail competition at 7:30. Since this grand finale is walk-ins only, don’t be surprised if guests show up early and settle in for the long haul. And if you’re planning to go all in, keeping your Thursday schedule clear might be a wise move.

Also of note: in case you need a little something wholesome to balance out your debauchery “footprint”, so to speak, in true Keefer style, their February 12th event is also giving back to the community by raising funds for the Hastings Community Little League. Aw, nice move, guys!

Full details about the whole shebang can be sussed out from the Keefer Bar’s Instagram (@thekeeferbar). See you there, Vancouver party people!
