This Is East Van  is a community photography project that publishes books of photos submitted by community members depicting what East Vancouver is to them. The first book was published last summer. It was a big hit. The second book launches this Saturday night at the Interurban Gallery and we think you should be there because it’s going to be a big hit too. This book contains 275 images submitted by 117 photographers ranging in age from 6 to 65 years old. Not only will the book be fantastic (have a sneak peek at some images below), but its organizers Erin Sinclair and Robbie Forbes have teamed up with Vancouver based Storyboard Label to put up an exhibition of contributors photographs in the gallery. East Van is an amazing place and this book captures its character so well. If you live in East Van, love East Van or sometimes find yourself standing on a street corner somewhere hereabouts wishing that you had a camera, then this is a show for you.

Books ($45) available as soon as doors open (first come first served, and cash only). All images in the show will be available for purchase at $160 each with $150 of the proceeds going to the photographer and $10 the Gallery (which is a non-profit/volunteer-run community art space).
