Dachi’s New Bubbledogs Release Begins Pouring Today!

We love when two groups of pals come together to make something fun — and this one’s a banger. Every year, East Van restaurant sweetheart, Dachi, teams up with a local winery to release a special bottle of sparkling wine called ‘Bubbledogs’ – paying homage to their Wine Club mascot, Arthur the bloodhound (and friends).

This year’s collab is with Pamplemousse Jus, from the Okanagan, and it drops on Dachi’s patio beginning at 4pm tonight! In addition to Dachi’s regular menu, Chef Jiwon Seo will be serving Korean-style corndogs alongside pours of the new vintage. For the latter, expect a bright, high-acid blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Zweigelt that Dachi’s co-owner, Miki Ellis, calss “summery, delicious, and also elegant!” In other words, just the right amount of fancy — perfect for patio season.

As usual, Arthur’s back on the label (illustrated by Laura Buchanan) – this time with a bunch of Pamplemousse grapes in his mouth. And he’s in good company: you’ll also spot his friendly sidekick, Stella, in repose; as well as an angelic tribute to Buddha (from Bella Wines, who was featured last year and passed shortly after the release).

Bottles are ~$79 for dine-in (also available to go for $50ish). As always, they won’t last long – so if you’re into it, get moving.

For a bit of Bubbledogs backstory: Bubbledogs kicked off in 2021 as a collaboration between Jay and Wendy (founders of Bella Wines) – with a little help from doggo trio, Buddha, Stella, and Arthur. After four different vintages, it felt like a nice idea to switch things up—enter Pamplemousse Jus. As the team shares: “We’d done a collab wine with them and Hanai, which was so delicious and a lot of fun, and Jordan Kubek makes killer sparkling wines, so it was a fun opportunity to work together again!”

Roll up to Dachi’s patio tonight and get into it! There are only 20 cases of these bright, zippy bubbles, and you’re going to wish you’d grabbed an extra once they’re gone – so think ahead.
