The 2025 edition of North America’s 50 Best Bars was revealed in Vancouver, and for the first time, Canada got to host the party. Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy claimed the top spot again — second year running — and while New York predictably stacked the list, Canada showed up with a solid eight entries. Toronto’s Bar Pompette led the Canadian charge at No.7, earning it the title of Best Bar in Canada.

This year’s list includes 26 bars from the US, 14 from Mexico, 8 from Canada, and 2 from the Caribbean. Here is a breakdown with all the Canadian and Vancouver-specific rankings, plus a few award shoutouts worth knowing. Overall, North America’s 50 Best Bars 2025 showed us what we already suspected: Mexico City and New York are still setting the pace, but Canada’s not just tagging along with eight spots on the list.
