The birthplace of modern Foodie-ism, the Food Network, has begun casting for Top Chef Canada, an offshoot of the channel’s insufferable American television program that pits knife-wielding egomaniacs against one another in the hunt for $100,000 and a fake title (like Iron Chef, only more ridiculous). If the prospect of leaving a puddle under your PR person is attractive to you as a chef and you don’t mind going from being a good, reliable cook to a vain asshole who shows up at work just to buy coke from the bartender, then knock yourself out. Seriously, knock yourself the fuck out.

$100,000.00 is a lot to someone who on averages makes $10bux an hour with no benefits and a serious lack of weekends off (You’d think people would cook at home more often on saturdays and sundays?).
You’d have to pay me $150,000.00 not to desperately want to take the cash prize at the expense of my soul. Just think of how much coke that’d buy!
Top Chef isn’t on the US Food Network. It’s a Bravo show. But let’s not let facts get in the way.

Top Chef is a shit show in the US. With even a lower budget in Canada, it will be worse.
The whole idea of celebrity chefs taking over is sheit. Whenever I put on the food network, it is a show with the obnoxious boob with the blonde spikey hair. No thank you!
