1946 Footage Shows American Navy Pilot Enduring Insane Wind Tunnel Speeds

(via) Back in the 1940s American Navy pilots underwent NACA testing in wind tunnels, enduring speeds that reached over 735 kilometres per hour. If that seems like a really crazy number to you, you’d be correct. How crazy? Try three times the wind speed of a Category 5 hurricane crazy. They also filmed it, so we get to see their poor faces nearly being ripped off. Chapstick, anyone?
