Vancouver, BC | Trigger your taste buds with a 35-cours wine- and beer-paired tasting menu starring local fare, all found at FarmFolkCityFolk’s 16th annual Lower Mainland Feast of Fields, taking place Sunday, August 29 at Wellbrook Winery, Delta.

FarmFolkCityFolk’s largest annual fundraiser, Feast of Fields is an open-air wandering festival, taking delight in our region’s high-summer bounty. Guests are welcomed with a linen napkin and wine glass and encouraged to leisurely stroll from booth to booth to nibble on delectable local eats and sip on fine local spirits as prepared by BC’s finest chefs, restaurateurs, food artisans, vintners and brewers.

This year’s Lower Mainland Feast of Fields will unfold at Wellbrook Winery, part of Bremner Farm in Delta. This 2nd generation, 55-acre farm with a restored Grainery Store and family home is well-known for growing the fruit for then producing and bottling some of Canada’s best juices; at the event, guests will have ample opportunity to sip and see for themselves.

Joining the host farm is a spread of celebrated participants, both returning and new: A Bread Affair, Savoury Chef, Dirty Laundry Vineyard, Victoria Spirits, Two Chefs and a Table and The Pointe Restaurant to name a few. As for the menu, a few teasers include Gold Sponsor Choices Markets’ Bremner’s cranberry juice and 7 Seas Coho salmon ceviche; Bao Bei Chinese Brasserie’s beef shortribs, hoisin, scallions, pickled cucumber, and roasted peanuts on a steamed bun; Raincity Grill’s poached salmon on green lentils with North Arm Farm shaved vegetable salad and Babes Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette; La Belle Auberge’s terrine of David Wood’s goat cheese, Bremner Foods’ blueberries and a salad of Gemini tomatoes from Origin Organic Farms. A complete list of this year’s participants—and a few more menu items—can be found at www.feastoffields.com.

“Feast of Fields is a unique festival where guests can really see the farm-to-table movement in action,” comments Bonita Magee, Project Manager for FarmFolkCityFolk. “In BC we are incredibly fortunate to have the most delicious food and wine at our fingertips,” she continues, “it only makes sense to celebrate it in the way we do!”

Feast of Fields is FarmFolkCityFolk’s annual fundraiser. Net proceeds support their work year round as they help to create a sustainable food system for British Columbia. Not only will guests have a great culinary experience but they will also be investing in a secure food future. Feast of Fields takes place Saturday, August 29 from 1–5pm at Wellbrook Winery (4626 88th Street, Delta, BC). Tickets are $85 and can be purchased online at www.feastoffields.com.
