On How To Make Really Good Iced Tea With Ingredients Fresh From Your Neighbourhood

by Michelle Sproule | The weatherman says summer is going to reappear this weekend, so I thought I’d share a step-by-step recipe for a DIY thirst quencher that is currently being passed around by our neighbourhood. It really hits the spot, and there’s nothing quite like drinking a sense of accomplishment! Use these graphic instructions as a rough guide and have some fun with it…

For our last batch, we used a one gallon jar and added approximately 4 cups of fresh herbs. In one jar we combined lemon balm, mint, lavender and rosemary. To another jar we added citrus peels (grapefruit, lemon and orange) and some thistle honey diluted in warm water. As to what it should be spiked with, well, we’ll leave that up to you, but between us a high quality gin is a mighty fine convincer.
